Weekend 2 – Free & Easy: World Heritage Day, Georgetown & Other Fun

Saturday 07/07/12 & Sunday 07/08/12

This weekend was WILD!!!!! There was a lot of fun and confusion this weekend, especially since it was completely free!!!! WE could do whatever we wanted! Take a look at the action!

On Saturday we split into our own groups and did crazy things. A few of us went to the Georgetown Heritage Festival while others went to Monkey Beach and whatever else they chose.

On Sunday a few went White Water Rafting and back to the Georgetown Heritage Festival. I wasn’t feeling all that well so I did work while others played. I slept in late then worked from10am-10pm; read my bible, then went to sleep at 12:30am.

Saturday Journal entry:

What an interesting day! I fell asleep yesterday about 5pm and didn’t wake up until 11pm. So I was pretty much up until I forced myself to sleep at 6:30 am this morning for a 3 hour nap. Today a few girls of the group and I will be exploring Georgetown’s Heritage Festival while the rest went to Monkey Beach.

We caught the city bus around 12:30pm to Fort Cornwallis then hunted for Chinatown. We did not leave until 9:15pm.

Here are some clip notes to go with the pictures:

  • Malay dance/dress
  • Chinese drums, lion, dragon, harmonica, dance, khoo Khasi, Khim nutmeg (chinese medicine) & Kim and her darn Essence of Chicken she bought from the Chinese medicine store. (I posted the video at the very bottom even though I recorded it after today)
  • Indian pizza, lassi, curry, tea stretching (which i won a prize!), free food, juice, drums, dances (both traditional and kids!!)

I had used all the juice from my phone, camera, and video recorder to try to capture all the amazing things that we stumbled across. We came back and I crashed for the night!

ENJOY!!:

Krystal
