Universiti Sains Malaysia Presentations:

Today was quite interesting. The 12 public health students that stayed in Penang had to give our final presenations. We discussed what we learned about our public health topic and the impact on society more-or-less. All were interesting and everybody learned a lot. We had 5-10 minute time limit but some went way over and some was barely up there. I kept mines as short and simple as possible, especially since NOBODY either finds reproductive health interesting or simply to embarrassed to discuss it.

Here were the topics:
  1. Alyse: Food Security
  2. Amanda: Health Consequences of Rapid Urbanization
  3. Angie: Road Safety
  4. Anthony: Healthcare Systems
  5. Caitlin: Natural Products
  6. Dustin: Sustainable Communities
  7. Guerda: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  8. Jamila: Tuberculosis (TB)
  9. Kimberley: Globalization of Healthcare
  10. Krystal (myself): Adolescent Reproductive Health
  11. Megan: Violence Against Women
  12. Rodger: Water Security

We met a few of USF’s Disaster Management Team (University of South Florida Global Health) who just happen to be in Penange and came to our presentation. We went our separate ways after presentations to climb Penang Hill (some went some did not, Alyse and I ate some amazing seafood in Georgetown), then we partied at the going away dinner!!

Fun Times!!

Fun Times Indeed (Now time to party on vacation!!)

Krystal
