Good Day Loves!
What an amazing experience! Singapore Airlines has given me the BEST travel experience of my life! (thus far). Sadly, my camera battery is useless so I was only able to snap a few great pics of the fight (which are completely lost now). I will try my best to describe what I can remember.
I flew Singapore A380 which is THE first and only largest air carrier in the world! I remember watching the making of this double-decker plane years ago on TV thinking, “man I would love to ride in that plane!” Well I did and probably the best flight ever in coach class. My seat was in “economy” BKA (best known as) “coach,” but this experience beats any American 1st class hands down!
You can take a peep at the airline carrier here:
- The seats are extremely comfortable! There is plenty of space in the seat, an adjustable headrest with a protective cloth that rises up & down and flexes open to close to support your head/neck, and very cushiony. The whole seat adjusts when reclining. The back reclines like normal airline seats but the actual bottom portion of the seat slides forward! Each seat also comes with a package creamed colored blanket and mini pillow (with mini pillowcase) for free! Or the price was included in our plane ticket. Either way I did not have to pay the $9 for a pillow and cover as I would have on my flight to NY.
- Attached to the seat in front of you is an entertainment center, a footrest that also adjusts to your comfort level, and a multifunctional tray. The tray is bi-fold and clipped up when you sit. It opens in a half folded state (like a piece of paper folded in half) with a cup holder and closed mirror you can slide to open. If you want a “full tray,” just flip it open and there is a cup holder and a writing utensil impression as well. The tray also slides back and forth between you and the seat. There is a metal spoke to hang items or your jacket right above another cup holder including a snack holder in the back of the headrest.
- Most importantly, there is an all inclusive TV! The TV entertainment is broken into 5 different categories: entertainment; just for kids; travel; learning; and PC. Entertainment is television shows, movies (new and old), satellite radio stations (like XM or Sirius), music albums of different genres, and video games. Just for Kids is the same as entertainment but all “kid friendly.” Travel allowed you to watch the flight path live (see the plane outline as it crosses the globe), connecting gate information, city guides for tourist, trip reviews, in-flight phone (not free), and the weather. Learning was the best to me. You can learn different languages (no seriously and it was all free), read executive book summaries, read cultural quest (sort of a cultural relativity crash course), or take a flight- overview of the flight information. If you brought connection cords such as video output, USB, or Ethernet cords; you can connect your electronics to the seat TV for the PC selection. You can use the photo reviewer, media player, PDF reader, AV input, and read legal notes.
All of this is controlled with a super double sided remote/keypad for your entertainment/learning pleasure. If you are willing to pay $0.59/10MB, you can use the internet while flying. (Not that serious though. I can wait until we land).
Here is the TV in action:
Last, but certainly not the lease: THE FLIGHT CREW!! The uniforms are beautiful and detailed! They were different colors and designs based on their employee level. Women have a full traditional garb while men wear suits with corresponding ties. They are what made this flight all that amazing! Super attention galore! What have I done to deserve such special treatment?! (I bought a ticket that’s what!) Singapore Airlines is considered THE BEST flight crew in the world and now I see why!
